28. Free Open House: Discover the Canadian Museum of Nature’s Hidden Collections 

Ever wondered what’s hidden behind the scenes at the Canadian Museum of Nature? On Saturday, October 17, explore its research and collections campus in Gatineau and discover a world of fascinating specimens, scientific treasures and stories from the natural world. Meet museum experts and get an up-close look at some of the more than 15 million natural history specimens and artifacts in the collections, from dinosaurs and fossils to insects, plants, animals, minerals and much more.

The self-guided Open House offers a rare chance to explore behind the scenes and see collections that aren’t normally open to the public. The event is free, but timed tickets are required. Registration opens October 6 at nature.ca/openhouse.
