26 events you won’t want to miss this weekend in Ottawa

We have arrived at the last weekend of March and the first one of spring! Do you feel your moods are changing? Do you feel like going out? Check out this list of events and share it with your friends!

1. Spring India Festival

The Grand Spring Festival will feature regional dances, Bollywood dance, and performances. There will be food available. FREE admission.

2. Ottawa Black Film Festival

Third edition of this festival which aims to amplify black voices. Over 40 films from around the world. In person and online. PAID.

3. Great Bowls of Fire

Choose a beautiful hand-crafted pottery bowl and a delicious soup and bread from 10 of the most popular restaurants and 3 bakeries in Ottawa. This is a fundraiser for Ottawa Food Bank that has been organized for 18 years. Tickets: $54.58.

4. Mexican Primavera

Enjoy this lively show by International Mariachi Aztlan. Tickets: $10 (only show), $50 (show and 3-course dinner). $80 (show and dinner for two)

5. 613 Flea

6. Spring Fling

Come for a day of shopping at this parent + tot pop up market. Over 45 small business owners. Scavenger hunt, craft corner, playtime zone and an Easter hunt for the kiddos. March 25 at
Lansdowne Horticulture Building. Early access tickets available at eventbrite. Free admission from 11am to 3pm.

7. Joshua 2: World Wide Zoo – U2 Tribute

Enjoy U2 greatest hits performed by JoshUa2, North America’s top U2 tribute band. Stunning projections and accurate costumes enhance this experience. March 25 at 9pm at Marzitelli stage, 360 Elgin St.

8. 67’s games

Cheer Ottawa’s junior hockey team, the 67’s vs Peterborough Petes on Friday March 24 at 7pm, and vs Barrie Colts on Saturday March 25 at 2pm.

9. Ottawa Home & Garden Show

10. WonderStruck

A night show of magic and mentalism by magician Michael Bourada. Fridays and/or Saturdays either at OneUp room, 1 Beechwood Avenue, or at the iconic destination The Prescott, located at 379 Preston Street. 11. Four Years Musical

Comedy about the highs and lows of being an undergraduate student as they navigate through the early years of adulthood. All the proceedings will be donated to the Dave Smith Youth Treatment Centre. 12. Brave and Safe. A Place for Courageous Conversations

This is an anti-racism youth event to encourage talks about issues related to racism in our communities. March 25 from 10am to 4pm at the Julian of Norwich Anglican Church, 7 Rossland Avenue, Ottawa. Details: @braveandsafeottawa

13. Altern Studio

14. Ottawa Pottery Workshop

15. The Ottawa Mic Drop

16. Sugar Bush at the Log Farm

Take a wagon ride or take a stroll around the sugar bush and see how maple syrup is made. See and feed the animals around the farm. From March 4 to April 10. Tickets: $12.50 at Eventbrite.

17. Maple Fest

Enjoy the outdoors to do some snowshoeing, cross-country skiing or just walking on 4 nature trails. Fire pits, play structures, wagon rides. Visit the sugar shack to learn how maple syrup is made. From Mar 5 to April 10. At Proulx Maple & Berry Farm, 1865 O`Toole Rd. Details: info@proulxfarm.com

18. Sugar Bush at Stanley`s Olde Maple Lane Farm

Enjoy Taffy on the snow, tractor-drawn rides, and a barn full of animals. See how maple syrup is made. Tickets: $10. From March 4 to April 16 from 10am to 3pm. At 2452 York`s Corners Rd, Edwards, ON.

19. Wheelers pancake house, sugar camps and museum

Enjoy a meal, tour the Maple Heritage Museum and Forest & Farm Museum, stroll around the sugar camp, do some hiking/snowshoeing/cross country skiing on the nature trails, and buy delicious organic maple syrup. Walk-in but registration is recommended.

20. Musical Evenings at Casino Lac Leamy

Bar 7 at Casino Lac Leamy is launching its musical evenings with a multimedia screen, and live performances, from Thursdays to Saturdays. FREE.
When: Thursday March 23 (Latin Fiesta) at 8:30pm ‘Chico Band’. Friday March 24 ‘This Side Up’ at 10:30pm, and at 9:30pm on Saturday 25.

21. Arboretum Hill Club Snowshoeing Workout

Join the AHC for a snowshoeing workout at the Arboretum. All ages, all levels. Friday March 24 at 6:29 am. FREE. Dogs welcome. Lots of free parking. Meet them at Fletcher Wildlife Garden parking lot (entrance is 100m south of Prince of Wales roundabout).

22. Farmers’ Winter Market

The Farmers’ market is back for the winter season every Sunday until April 30. Fresh vegetables and fruit, meat, baked goods, spirits, crafts and more. FREE.

23. Ice skating at the Rink of Dreams

24. Wolves: Shapeshifters in a changing world

Learn about the evolution of these fascinating animals through videos, museum specimens, cultural stories, and vivid photographs by Canadian photographer Michelle Valberg, a recent recipient of the Order of Canada. Activities for kids. March 3 to March 2024. At the Canadian Museum of Nature

25. Owl Rendez-Vous

26. Exhibition: Uramado AR, the awakening of the Tanukis

Uramado is a treasure hunt route in augmented reality. It tells the story of Tanukis which are spirits of the forest from Japanese mythology. The participants are invited to download the free app Uramado AR, Tanukis awake ( on IOS and Android ) to start this treasure hunt. FREE.
When: Mon to Fri from 9am to 12pm; and 2pm-4pm until April 30.

  1. This is a great list of events! Thanks for sharing! I’m definitely going to check out the Spring India Festival and the Wheelers pancake house, sugar camps and museum.

    I’m also interested in the Uramado augmented reality treasure hunt. It sounds like a lot of fun! I’ve never tried augmented reality before, so this will be a great way to experience it.

    I’m sure there are many other great events happening this weekend in Ottawa. Thanks for sharing this list! I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for more events to attend.
