1. Aero Gatineau

Breathtaking aerial performances and exhibitions of aircraft on the ground. Expect the return of the Snow Birds after a two-year absence! Food vendors on site. Tickets to the event are only sold online. Day pass: $39, $19. Night spectacle: $22, $15. Children 4 and under free.

2. Orleans Ribfest and Poutine

The best in Ribs, Chicken, Brisket, Pulled Pork along with the best in Poutine, Blooming Onions, sweet treats including donuts, churros, ice cream. Also Korean Korn Dogs, Fresh Roasted Corn, Fresh Lemonade, and slushy treats. There will be live entertainment, Bouncy Castles, Face Painting, and Market Village, and a cookoff competition on Sunday to crown the best rack, the best sauce, and best chicken. FREE admission.

3. Richmond Fair

One of the oldest agricultural fairs offering a lot of fun: midway, kids entertainment, lawn tractor pull, a parade, horse show, sheep show, beef show, and more! Tickets: $15, $5, kids 6 and under free.

4. Festival Viva Mexico!

The Embassy of Mexico invites the public to attend Mexican celebrations which include gastronomy offerings, folkloric dance performances and concerts. Immerse yourself in the vibrant Mexican culture. FREE.

5. City Folk

A multi-day celebration of music and dance, featuring an eclectic mix of musical performances on various stages. A family-friendly event. 6. Capital Pop Up Cinema

7. Army Run

Canada Army Run is about Canadians and the Canadian Armed Forces joining together in the spirit of camaraderie and community. In-person and virtual races: 5K, 10K, half-marathon.

8. Falling for You Craft Market

9. Ratha Yatra Chariot Festival

This colourful celebration features beautiful decorated chariots. It’s an ancient dharmic festival where Lord Jagganath (a deitity) is placed on a chariot and pulled across the city streets. After that there will be a gathering at Sandy Hill Community Centre with free vegetarian food, live music, amenities for kids and more. The parade starts at the intersection of Templeton St and Marlborough Ave on Saturday Sept 16 at 11am.

10. Harvest. A Feast of Fall

 A multi-chef food & beverage experience celebrating Ottawa’s amazing culinary community of award-winning chefs, and artisanal beverage producers. In support of Youturn Youth Services. Wednesday Sept 13 from 6pm to 10pm. At All Saints event space / Working Title Kitchen (patio area), 330 Laurier Avenue East Ottawa.

11. Summer Showcase Market

Shop from over 70 artisans offering seasonal decor, fibre art, kids toys, ceramics, self-care products, and more. Saturday Sept 16 from 11am to 6pm at York St, Byward Market. 

12. WOW Festival at City Hall

The WOW (Working on Wellness) Festival will bring together Substance Use Health, Mental Health and Physical Health communities under one umbrella. Fantastic speakers, live performances, and Community Partner booths providing information about wellness organizations in the region. FREE. Sept 15, 11am – 4pm. 13. Monster Trucks All Out

The Monster Trucks All Out Tour is on a collision course for Rideau Carleton Casino – and you gotta be there! 14. Ottawa Equestrian Tournaments

Gold hunter/jumper competition presented by Wesley Clover Parks. The Ottawa Equestrian Tournaments have become one of the premier show jumping competition series and equestrian sport venues in Canada. PAID. 15. 8th Annual Ottawa Run for Palestine

The Run for Palestine is a fun, family-friendly event bringing Canadians together to alleviate the suffering of Palestinian children living with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). 17. Zones Théâtrales

Showcasing the best of Franco-Canadian theater and the regions of Quebec. From Moncton to Vancouver, it once again has a surprising and exciting program offering a variety of current topics such as: space exploration, flaws in the real estate sector, fake news, transidentity, the post-pandemic era and the evolution of the collective relationship with territories and ecosystems. Free and paid events. Sept 11-16. Various venues.

18. Heating Up the Capital. Hot Sauce Expo

21. West End Studio Tour

The artists of the West End Studio Tour (WEST) invite you to celebrate 29 years of community art. In a neighbourhood known both as Ottawa’s “Arts District” and “Gastro Alley”. It is one of the longest-running studio tours in the region. FREE. Sept 16-17,
11am to 5pm. The WEST boundaries are: East of Woodroffe Ave, North of Carling Ave,
South of the Ottawa River, West of Preston St.

22. Viernes de película

The uOttawa Spanish program is reviving its iconic film club. Every Friday at 7pm at Hamelin Hall, 70 Laurier Ave E, room 033. This Friday Sept 15: Intersection (2022, Cecilia Araneda). FREE.

23. Film screening “Black Art: in the absence of light”.

Documentary that spotlights the indelible contributions of some of the foremost African American artists in today’s contemporary art world. FREE. Thursday, Sept 14 from 6pm to 7:45pm. 24. Back to School Food Drive in Stittsville

Come to a day of family fun and activities to collect food for Stittsville Food Bank. There will be bouncy castles, face painting, animal balloons, etc. Sunday Sept 16 from 10am to 2pm. Drop off non-perishable food items to participating shops in Unity Square. Address: Corner of Hazeldean & Iber Road.
