1. Latin Sparks Festival

If you like to party like there’s no tomorrow, don’t miss the tenth celebration of this event. Salsa workshops, DJ’s, live music, performances, and 15 food vendors. Ticket: $49.90. Get up to 45% off discounts if you buy tickets with your friends.

2. Ottawa Comiccon

3. Afrofestival

Music and art festival that showcases the best of African culture and entertainment in Ottawa. Concerts, food, workshops. FREE.

4. Beechfest

Beechwood Avenue will host its annual street party with food, drinks, music, buskers, and a drag show. FREE.

5. Redblacks vs Hamilton Tiger-Cats

Cheer on the Redblacks, Ottawa`s football team in their battle against Hamilton Tiger-Cats. Tickets from $25.

6. Capital Pop Up Cinema

7. New Edinburgh Street Fest

An event to celebrate New Edinburgh’s history with music, house tours through the interior of 3 historic village homes, a beer and wine tent, an arepas food truck, horse and wagon rides and much more. 8. Salsa Sundays

9. Barrhaven Harvest Fest

Shop from farmers and artisans while having fun. Giant inflatable slide, face painting, balloons, music. FREE. Sunday Sept 10 from 10am to 2pm at Nepean Woods Park & Ride, Strandherd Dr, Ottawa.

10. Ottawa School of Art Open House

Watch free Live Art Demos and participate in hands-on activities with skilled local instructors: life-model drawing, darkroom photo printing, ceramics, mixed media, wax sculpture, printmaking and learn to draw cartoons! Sunday September 10 from 11am to 3pm. At their two locations: 35 George St in Byward Market and at the Orleans campus, in the Shenkman Arts Centre, 245 Centrum Boulevard.

11. The Chef’s Table

Innovative cuisine and curated menus by the most prominent chefs in the capital. Sept 7-9: Chef Siobhan Detkavich (“The Ballantyne Project”), and Chef Kenton Leier (NAC). Music: The Retrogrades. National Arts Centre, Patio, 1 Elgin St.

12. Riverside Festival

Enjoy live electronic music and partying at this festival. $80-$175 tickets online. September 8-10 from 3pm to 11pm. At the Canadian Museum of History, 100 Laurier St, Gatineau.

13. Stittsville Butter Tart Festival

Butter tarts will be available to taste and for sale at Stittsville’s second annual Butter Tart Festival. There will be various vendors, local artisans, live music, and judging of the best tart!. Saturday, Sept 9 from 10am to 3pm at 6154 Abbott Street East. Public parking is available at the municipal parking lot on the west side of Stittsville Main Street just south of Abbott.

14. 2023 Ovarian Cancer Canada Walk of Hope

This walk is happening Sunday, September 10 at several locations across the country and virtually. In Ottawa it will take place at Andrew Haydon Park, 3169 Carling Avenue, Nepean. The walk starts at 10am. Registration required. Donations encouraged.

15. Fireworks by Bennet Insurance Agency

A display of fireworks will close the glamorous 20’s Lumière Charity Gala. Local residents will be able to see them from The Marshes Golf Club on Thursday Sept 7 at 9:15pm.

16. Le Burgers Week Ottawa

A weeklong burger festival that takes place in many cities across Canada in which the participating restaurants compete in creating a unique burger. The public is called upon to try them and vote for their favourite. Sept 1-14. Various restaurants.

17. Metcalfe Farmers’ Market

Farm fresh produce, baking, furniture, honey, meats, preserves, locally roasted coffee, locally blended loose leaf tea, wood crafts, clothing, takeaway food, jewelry, artisan work, wines, beers, spirits, home décor and so much more. 18. Pressure. James Cameron into the abyss

19. OAG’s Summer Exhibition 2023

Welcome to “83 ‘til infinity” an exhibition about stories and experiences of hip-hop in the Ottawa–Gatineau region. FREE. At the Ottawa Art Gallery, 10 Daly Avenue.

20. Elgin Street Market

Elgin Street market on Sundays from July 9 to October 29. FREE.

21. Fields of Gold

Beautiful sunflower farm. Sunset Strolls, Sundays at 5pm, $70 for 2 tickets. Stroller Squad, Wednesdays at 10am, $30 per person. Sunset Sunflower Yoga, Thursdays at 7pm, $30 per person. Located at 17650 Strathmore Rd.

22. Lansdowne Farmers’ Market

Sundays from May 7 until October 29. At Aberdeen Square, Lansdowne Park. From 9am to 3pm.

23. Carp Market

The largest producer-based Farmers’ Market in Eastern Ontario runs every Saturday from 8am to 1pm until the end of October.

24. Nepean Night Market

Good food, different musicians playing every week, and local amazing vendors! Sundays May 14 to Oct 15 from 5pm to 9pm at Mr. Lube Baseline, 1442 Baseline Road, Nepean.
