8 events you won’t want to miss this weekend in Ottawa

We have arrived at the last weekend of August, and Ottawa still has a wide range of activities and events that you certainly will want to enjoy!

Let’s have a look at what’s happening in Ottawa this weekend!

1. Capital Pride Parade.

This is the main event of the Capital Pride week, and the parade will go downtown on Sunday Aug 28 starting at 1pm. FREE. For more pride events check out: capitalpride.ca

2. Palestinian Festival.

This event will start on Friday Aug 26 at 11am at the City Hall. There will be live music, performances, a bazar, art exhibitions and Palestinian cuisine. Aug 26-28. FREE. Details: palestinianfestival.ca

3. Japanese Summer Festival.

It will take place at Annie Pootoogook Park/Sandy Hill Community Centre. Enjoy Japanese cultural and martial arts performances. FREE.

4. Capital Ukrainian Festival.

They will have a marketplace hosted by the Ottawa Farmers’ Market on Sunday, Aug 28, from 9am to 3pm. There will be vendors, food, art, cultural performances and music. Where: Lansdowne, 1000 Exhibition Way. FREE. Check out: capitalukranianfestival.com

5. Ratha Yatra Chariot Festival.

An ancient Indian tradition that will be celebrated for the first time in Ottawa. There will be free vegetarian food, classical Indian dance, live music, performances, activities for kids. 6. Ottawa Titans vs Empire State Greys (US).

This game is part of the Frontier League of baseball. The game will take place on Sunday Aug 28 at 1pm at Ottawa Stadium (302 Coventry Road). PAID. Details: integritybymccarthy.ca

7. Stittsville Sweet Corn Festival.

Live music by local bands, artisans and craft market, corn eating contest, and more. On Saturday Aug 27 from 10am to 3pm. At 1491 Shea Road, Stittsville. FREE. Details: https://facebook.com/events/s/stittsville-sweet-corn-festiva/1016589569055858/

8. Nostalgia Music Festival.

This event is all about iconic music from the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s played by 15 professional bands. Where: At LeBreton Flats. Aug 24-28. PAID. Check out: nostalgiafestival.ca
