1. Hot Air Balloon Festival.

This event in Gatineau is hotly anticipated at the end of summer in the capital region. Big colourful hot air balloons will fill the sky twice a day between September 2nd and 5th: at 6:30am and 6:30pm.
There will be concerts, an amusement park, family activities, fireworks, hot air balloon flights, and more! Where: Parc de la Baie in Gatineau. Opens on Thursday Sept 1 at 5pm. PAID. Daily pass from 17.99 dollars. Children 10-years-old and under get in free if accompanied by an adult.

2. Ottawa Paint Fest.
This event aims to raise awareness and fundraise for mental health. It’s a family event, painting together while enjoying music. They will provide the necessary tools for painting. All you have to do is to book a spot here:

FREE but donations are encouraged. Where: Confederation Park. Sunday 4th, 11am-5pm.

3. Carleton Rideau Raceway 60 Anniversary.
They will celebrate with a special night race and fireworks. Racing starts at 6:30pm, and fireworks will begin between 9:30-10pm. Families can enter through the outdoor Family Entrance at the south side of the building. There’s free parking. Address: 4837 Albion Rd. Sunday Sept 4.

4. Back Street Boys concert.
This 90’s popular American band will play in Ottawa on Sept 1st at 7:30pm at the Canadian Tire Centre in Kanata.

5. Atletico Ottawa vs FC Edmonton.
This is a soccer game of the Canadian Premier League, in which Atletico comes 1st. The game will take place on Friday Sept 2 at 7pm at TD Place in Lansdowne. They are featuring an 80’s night with prizes for the best 80’s outfit, and for the winner of the 80’s halftime trivia contest. Tickets from 20 dollars.

6. Cinema Pop Up Summer Series.
Bring your camping chair and enjoy an outdoor movie. Where? Byward Market. Sept 1st at 8pm. Movie: Clueless (1995). FREE.
7. Northern Lights Sound and Light Show.
This is the last weekend of this show at Parliament Hill, which reviews Canada’s history through an amazing display of images projected over the historic building. From Thursday 1 to Monday 5 at 9pm. FREE.

8. Kooza.
The famous Cirque du Soleil features this spectacle that mixes acrobatic performances and the art of clowning. Until Sept 25. Where: At Place des Festivals Zibi in Gatineau. Tickets from 61 dollars.

9. Pearl Jam concert
The American 90’s rock band will play in Ottawa on Saturday September 3rd at 7:30pm. Where: Canadian Tire Centre in Kanata.

10. Gee Gees vs Queen’s Gaels.
The UOttawa football team the Gee Gees welcomes the Queen’s Gaels for the first home game of the year. Sept 3 at 7pm. At TD Place.
